Yoga

So what is Yoga…….ask various yogis and you may get very different answers. Some say it’s the union between your ‘self’ and a ‘higher consciousness’, others may say it is a way to peace through being present and aware in your body……we could go on. But the thing most definitions will have in common is that the practise takes you on a journey of self discovery and elevation.

  • Self discovery in that you are often taken to the point of confronting ‘old limits’, either mental, physical or emotional.
  • Elevation occurs when you master the ‘old limit’, bringing with it an expansion or uplift; which can take various forms. Physical/Muscular improvements, greater mental clarity, emotional steadiness and increased energy.

Yoga has many diverse forms and methods each one will have a different emphasis and ultimate impact on your body and psyche but the same principle applies. The degrees of how much you may get out of any practise ultimately depends on what you put in. Some of the most widely practised forms of Yoga today are Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Kundalini Yoga.

At Life Element we currently focus on providing Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. It is an amazing practise suitable to all levels of ability, age & flexibility. Click here to find out more about  Kundalini yoga.
