What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient form of yoga that was taught in secret in India, to initiates for 1000’s of years. Yogi Bahjan felt guided to bring it to the west in the late 60’s/ early 70’ and made it open to all.

How Does it work?

Kundalini Yoga uses a combination of traditional asanas (postures), breathing techniques and sound vibration in the form of Mantra to deliver an extremely effective and transformational personal practise. It is the Yoga of awareness and if practised diligently it can start to unveil your true potential, while also strengthening your physical mental and emotional capacities.

All yoga has a strong spiritual significance but Yogi Bhajan successfully taught it in an extremely practical and scientific way, relating the practises directly to many of today’s modern issues.

KY utilises the concept of Kriya, Meditation and Relaxation to deliver an extremely effective and sacred system.

Finally every yoga practise begins with setting the intention and expressing gratitude for the teachings. We achieve this through tuning in and tuning out with the mantras Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo and Sat Nam.
